Online Hifz Program: Memorise the Quran

A structured, realistic plan to memorise selected surahs or the complete Quran, with daily revision so nothing you memorise is lost.

How our Hifz classes are structured

Successful memorisation depends far more on revision than on how fast new pages are learned. Every Hifz lesson is divided into the three traditional parts used in madrasahs around the world:

  • Sabaq (new lesson): a new portion, sized to the learner's ability, read to the teacher until it is accurate and then memorised.
  • Sabqi (recent revision): the portions memorised over the last few days or weeks, recited to keep them fresh.
  • Manzil (old revision): a rotating portion of everything memorised so far, so older surahs stay strong.

Read our detailed guide to Hifz revision with sabaq, sabqi and manzil for example weekly schedules.

Before starting Hifz

Learners should be able to read the Quran fluently with basic Tajweed. Memorising with mistakes is very hard to correct later, so if reading still needs work, the teacher will recommend strengthening Tajweed first or alongside a light Hifz plan.

How long does Hifz take?

Timelines vary enormously. A child memorising a few lines a day might complete Juz Amma in several months, while the full Quran commonly takes several years of steady daily work. We set a goal that matches the learner's age, ability and available time, and review it regularly with parents. With 30-minute classes five days a week, the teacher focuses on listening and correction while the learner does memorisation practice at home.

FAQ

Hifz: common questions

What age is best to start Hifz?

Many children begin around 6 to 10, once they read fluently. Adults can also memorise successfully; a smaller, steady daily amount works best.

Can my child do Hifz online alongside school?

Yes. Many children who do Hifz online also attend full-time school. The daily amount is set so it fits around homework and family life.

Is a 30-minute class enough for Hifz?

The class is used to listen, correct and test. Memorisation itself happens with short practice sessions at home. Some families add extra practice time with a parent.

What if my child forgets what they memorised?

That is exactly why every lesson includes sabqi and manzil revision. The teacher spots weak portions early and gives them extra attention.
