For a lot of sisters in Canada, the real obstacle is not motivation. It is the drive to a class across Mississauga in February, or the only women's halaqa in town being at a time you work. A private online lesson with a female teacher removes both. You read from your kitchen table, and the teacher hears every word.
Each lesson is 30 minutes, one-to-one and live, five days a week, in your Canadian time zone. Start with three free lessons; no card needed.
Our female teachers include Ayesha and Eman, who are introduced with their experience on the About page.
Female teachers are available around the clock, so you choose the time and we fit the lesson to it.
Six time zones, one lesson time
Canada stretches from Newfoundland to British Columbia, and that changes what "after work" means. This is how each zone lines up with Pakistan time, where our timetable is kept:
| Zone | For example | Behind Pakistan time |
|---|
| Newfoundland (NT) | St. John's | 7.5 hrs (summer) / 8.5 hrs (winter) |
| Atlantic (AT) | Halifax, Moncton | 8 / 9 hrs |
| Eastern (ET) | Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal | 9 / 10 hrs |
| Central (CT) | Winnipeg; Regina (no clock change) | 10 / 11 hrs |
| Mountain (MT) | Calgary, Edmonton | 11 / 12 hrs |
| Pacific (PT) | Vancouver, Surrey | 12 / 13 hrs |
Most of Canada changes clocks on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. Your lesson keeps the same local time.
Winter, Ramadan and long summer days
Canadian prayer times swing hard through the year. In December, Maghrib in Toronto can come before 5 pm; in June it is after 9 pm. That matters if you want your lesson tied to a prayer. Many sisters keep a fixed clock time instead and simply move it in Ramadan, when an after-iftar slot can mean very late evening in summer. Tell your teacher a week ahead and she will adjust.
