Some women want a female teacher for reasons of comfort and modesty. Some simply learn better with another woman, especially when reading aloud feels exposing. And plenty of parents want their daughters taught by a woman from the first lesson. Whatever the reason, you do not need to explain it. Choose a female teacher and that is who you get.
Lessons are live, one-to-one and 30 minutes long, five days a week, set in your US time zone. The first three lessons are free and we do not ask for a card.
Our female teachers include Ayesha and Eman, who are introduced with their experience on the About page.
Female teachers are available around the clock, so you choose the time and we fit the lesson to it.
Who usually asks us for a female teacher in the US
- Mothers of young girls who want the Qaida taught gently, at home, before the school run gets busy.
- Teenage girls balancing Quran with AP classes, sports and part-time jobs.
- Converts and reverts who never had the chance to learn Arabic letters and would rather start privately.
- Sisters who learned as children but stopped, and now want to read properly without feeling judged.
- Working women who need a lesson that fits a lunch break or an evening after the kids are asleep.
US time zones, without the headache
The US spans four main time zones, so "evening" in New York is late afternoon in Los Angeles. You just tell us your local time; the conversion is our job. Here is how far each zone sits behind Pakistan time, where our timetable is kept:
| Zone | Behind Pakistan time | Times sisters often ask for |
|---|
| Eastern (ET) | 9 hrs (summer) / 10 hrs (winter) | 9 am to noon, or 8 to 10 pm |
| Central (CT) | 10 / 11 hrs | 9 am to noon, or 7 to 9 pm |
| Mountain (MT) | 11 / 12 hrs | Mid-morning or evening |
| Pacific (PT) | 12 / 13 hrs | Morning or early evening |
These are just the times sisters often pick. Teachers are available at any hour, so choose whatever suits you and we confirm on WhatsApp.
What you can learn
Privacy in a one-to-one lesson
Nobody else joins your lesson, and lessons are not recorded or shared without consent (see our terms). If you are booking for a daughter, use a family device in a shared room and feel free to sit in. For more on what lessons are like, read how to find a female Quran teacher online and Quran classes for sisters.
Fees in US dollars
Choosing a female teacher does not change the price. Everything is in US dollars, so there is no conversion on a US card.
