Online Quran Classes in the UK

Private, live Quran lessons for children and adults in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford, Leicester and everywhere else in the UK, timed around the British school day.

Why UK families choose online Quran classes

A weekday in a British household is already full. School finishes in the mid-afternoon, there is homework and often a club or two, and in midwinter it is dark by late afternoon. Adding a journey to the mosque, or a visit from a tutor, is a lot to ask of a young child and of the parent doing the driving. With online one-to-one lessons the Quran class happens at your own table, and one teacher listens to one learner for the whole lesson.

  • Straight after school. Lessons can begin once your child is home and has had a snack, with no second journey.
  • Every recitation is heard. The teacher listens to your child alone, so a wrong letter or sound is corrected in the moment instead of slipping past in a large group.
  • Female teachers for girls and sisters. Ask for a female teacher when you book.
  • Explained in English. Helpful for children who speak English at school and at home.

Class times in GMT and BST

Your lesson is booked in UK time. The clocks go forward to BST in late March and back to GMT in late October, and your lesson keeps its usual local time on both sides of the change. The seasons still shape the day: in midwinter the sun sets around 4 pm in much of the UK, so Maghrib comes early, while in midsummer Isha is very late and evening lessons usually work better ahead of it. Popular slots for UK families are:

Safeguarding and peace of mind

Parents in the UK rightly want to know who is teaching their child. We suggest the lesson takes place in a shared family room, on a device you control, and parents are always welcome to sit in. Bring your safeguarding questions to the free trial and ask them directly, for example who the teacher will be and how a lesson is run. Our guide on how to choose an online Quran academy lists more questions worth putting to any academy, including us.

Fitting Quran around school terms

Most schools in England run three terms with half-term breaks in October, February and May, plus Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. Scottish schools follow different dates and start the year in August. Classes carry on through half-term and the holidays unless you ask to pause, and many families use the longer breaks to move faster. Around GCSEs and other exams we can lighten the Hifz load or switch to revision-only lessons for a few weeks.

Ramadan moves about ten to eleven days earlier each year, so it sometimes falls in term time and sometimes in the holidays. Tell us in advance and we can plan the month's timings with you.

No. Your lesson keeps its usual UK local time, and we adjust our side of the schedule for the switch between GMT and BST.
